17.                  Let the problem be fixed by him. (Let him fix the problem.)

18.                  Had the potter caught the tiger? (Had the tiger been caught by the potter?)

19.                  Is the bird singing the song? (Is the song being sung by the bird?)

20.                  Is English spoken by him? (Does he speak English?)

III. Change the following into other Speech.

1.                      The manager said to the clerk, “Type the letter.” (The manager asked the clerk to type the letter.)

2.                      I said to them, “When have you come?” (I asked when they had come there.

3.                      She asked him if he would help her.)

4.                      The teacher said to the students, “Why have you not completed the work?” (The teacher asked the students why they had not completed the work.)

5.                      Shravani said to Shekhar, “I shall return your book tomorrow.” (Shravani told Shekhar that she would return his book the next day.)

6.                      He will say to you, “I have finished my homework.” (He will tell you that he has finished his homework.)

7.                      Srikanth says to Kamalakar,”I have got the job.” (Srikanth tells Kamalakar that he has got the job.)

8.                      Mahesh said, “I have done research on the behavior of monkeys.” (Mahesh told that he had done research on the behaviour of monkeys.)

9.                      Malathi says to Manjunath, “Your notes helped me pass the examination yesterday.” (Malathi tells Manjunath that his notes helped her pass the examination the previous day.)

10.                  They said to me, “You have made us wait for you today.” (They told me that I had made them wait for me that day.)

IV. Change the following into other two degrees.

1.                      Comp: Hyderabad is larger than many other cities in India. Positive: Very few cities in India are so large as Hyderabad.(Hyderabad is one of the largest cities in India.)

2.                      Sup: The Nile is the longest river in the world. Comp: The Nile is longer than any other river in the world. (No other river is as long as the Nile in the world.)

3.                      Sup: Nishanth is the cleverest boy in the class. Positive: No other boy in the class is as clever as Nishanth. (Nishanth is cleverer than any other boy in the class.)

4.                      Sup: America is one of the most powerful countries. Comp: America is more powerful than many other countries. (Very few countries are as powerful as America.)

5.                      Sup: Telangana is one of the richest states in India. Positive: Very few states are as rich as Telangana. (Telangana is richer than many other states in India.)

6.                      Positive: She is not as sharp as he. (He is sharper than she.)

7.                      Comp: The pen is mightier than the sword. (The sword is not as mighty as the pen.)

8.                      Positive: I am as tall as you. (You are not taller than I.)

9.                      Comp: She not smarter than they. (They are so smart as she.)

10.                  Comp: The rabbit runs faster than the tortoise. (The tortoise does not run as fast as the rabbit.)

V. Add Question Tags to the following.
