I. Convert the following sentences into two other types of sentences.
- The child is too short to touch
the board.
- The fox is very fat and
therefore he cannot enter the cave.
- I was so tired that I could not
go to work.
- Ashwini was too lazy to do
homework.
- He is very stupid and therefore
he cannot give the answer.
- The boy is so late that he
cannot catch the bus.
- I was too busy to speak to
them.
- You are very innocent and
therefore you cannot know this.
- He was so old that he could not
work well.
- She is too poor to educate her
son.

II. Convert the following sentences into two other types of sentences.

Though he was strong,
he was defeated.
2. In spite of being rich, she did not own a car.
3. She was intelligent but she did not succeed in life.

well as the principal.
- In addition to writing a novel,

- He must think positively or he

- To find the pencil, she must

- He must tell the truth or the
headmaster will punish him.

- If he opens the box, he will
find the jewellery.
- Don’t eat junk food, you will
spoil your health.
- She must get a job or else she
will starve.
- In order not to lose marks, you
must write the answers neatly.
- If he talks too much, he will
not be respected.

- On the principal’s calling him,

- He met with an accident and at
once they took him to hospital.

- The authorities opened the
gates and at once water gushed out.
- On his arriving at the airport,
his friends received him warmly.
- As soon as the postman came, he
asked for the letter.
- No sooner had the manager rung
the bell than the attender entered the chamber.
- On receiving the telegram, the
country mouse left for the town.
- As soon as somebody knocked at
the door, Susrutha opened the door.
- No sooner had the mother called
the children than they came to her.
- On the rescue team’s arriving
at the shelter, the victims rushed to them.
- As soon as the eagle saw the
snake, it caught it.
- The girl saw the bakery and at
once she asked her mother for ice cream.
